Coriander (Powder)

Coriander powder is a vital component in the Indian food recipes. It is used as a spice in our homes. It has a unique and distinct aroma and taste; to an extent that even one spoon of original coriander powder can change the taste & aroma of entire food item. It has many benefits like improving digestive health, reducing cholesterol, curing acidity, preventing anaemia, hair growth, antidiabetic properties, reducing skin problems etc. It is rich in antioxidants, potassium, iron, calcium, vitamins A,K and C, fibre, etc.
The unique aroma of coriander powder and its healthy properties come from the several volatile oils like linalool, a-pinene, geraniol, camphene and terpine and fatty acids like petroselinic acid, linoleic acid (omega 6), oleic acid, and palmitic acid present in Dhania. These components give dhania seeds their digestive, carminative and anti-flatulent characteristics.
Normally it's used as a spice for making curries, rice and dal but we can use it for healthy coffee as well. Its taste is surprisingly similar to coffee. It can be used for making another health drink called 'sukku'.
Farmer's pride coriander powder or dhaniya powder is processed by cleaning the dried coriander seeds gently and then milling them. These seeds are naturally grown from indigenous plants.
